caramelized onion dip//

here's what I used:
2 medium onions {thinly sliced and diced}
1tbs. olive oil {or use cooking spray}
1 8oz bar of reduced fat cream cheese {room temp}
1 cup fat free sour cream {plain greek yogurt works too}
2 tbsp fresh chopped chives
dash of onion powder
sea salt + fresh ground pepper {to taste}

heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat.  add your onion and a little salt.  be sure to stir occasionally until onions are caramelized and a deep golden brown.  this may take about 20 min. remove your skillet from the heat and let onions cool completely.

in a bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, chives, and onion powder. mix in the onions along with salt/pepper. your onion dip is complete. serve with your favorite veggies or chips.
