DO YOU DO HATS?

1.21.2014

i'm a hat lady as you can tell from this post and that one. hats are a multi-functional accessory that will never let you down.  bad hair day? ... grab a hat!  raining outside? ... put one on too!  need a quick way to complete your look? ... top off that head of yours.  they come in a variety of styles + colors, not to mention, they are perfect for shading your face on hot summer days and adding a bit of cool to your look.

here are some hat tips you may want to try:

1/choose a hat that best compliments the shape of your face.  an oval shape face can pull off just about any hat style while round faces are complimented by angular styles with medium to wide brims.  a heart shape face works with a small brim and a long face can pull off a wider one.

2/ try it on if you can.  you will be less likely to wear it if the fit is not good ... especially if it's too snug.

3/choose your hat color based off shades that work well with your hair color + skin tone.

4/ purchase hats that will give you great wear, rotating them out between seasons. if you don't see yourself sporting it often, it may not be the hat for you.

ps//i'm still swooning over the hats from this shop and have my eyes on this one.

  1. I'm not a big hat person. My hair is so curly and poofy that I just look ridiculous in a hat. But, some women can really pull it off. My grandmother does a good job with that.. maybe when I'm old and bald I can do the same thing.

  7. Ever since highschool I was known as the hat girl. I wore fancy hats with my homecoming and winter formal dresses, and put on some form of hat whenever I could. I have an ever growing collection, my current favorite being this floral fedora I found on Ebay over the summer: http://eyesofstyle.com/a-little-project/
Lately I've been knitting a lot of hats to keep warm with!

  10. I love the way hats look on some ladies, but I personally have never wear any hats or caps. I don't feel like wearing them for some reasons. Anyway, I like your selection! Thank You for sharing such a nice post!
Wish you a blessed day ahead!

  11. I used to wear hats all the time, then my girls became teenagers and started "borrowing" them. But I do like them for their versatility.
