...i am a farm girl.
i would live in my white farmhouse with the bright red door framed with a screen that would squeak every time you entered. window boxes would accessorize the front, filled with cascading vines, fragrant herbs, and clusters of blooms. there are rolling hills out back and the front is graced with a circular driveway filled with gravel and lined with tall stately trees providing the perfect shade. and of course, there's the dog who runs out to greet everyone who stops by for a visit. during the day i would play in the dirt, weed, and nurture the greens. take care of the goats (yes in my mind i have a few) and there may be other critters sprawled about too. at night, i'd sit on my old clapboard porch and rock the night away with nothing to keep me company except the tree frogs and fireflies.
in my mind, i am a farm girl, cultivating and preserving the land while sharing canned preserves, herbs, and whatever i grew from the earth. there would be large potluck dinners, complete with a game of horse shoes, sweet churned ice cream, and the smell of honeysuckle lingering in the breeze ....
in my mind, this would be perfection! hard work, but worth it.
in my mind, i am a farm girl complete with a wheel barrow and garden hoe. dirt stained jeans and floppy hats would be my fashion. cultivating a beautiful land would be my style.
in my mind, i am a farm girl...
