a letter from me to you

2.06.2013

if you are reading this, i thank you.

each day i am amazed as to how this blog seems to connect me with people that i may otherwise have never met. even more, to know this little spot is a welcome relief from the messy world is even better.  i appreciate you sharing your lunch breaks and stopping by while the kiddos are at school or the babies are asleep.  you are here in between classes and study breaks, even if just for a few. and for that...

i thank you.

not to long ago, i thought about leaving the blog world.  yes!... vanishing, escaping, never to write another post again.  it grew tiresome to sloth thru comments that simply wanted you to follow. i dreaded hearing tales of content being lifted off one site and claimed to be original work on another.  and the numbers game. you know...how many followers do you have? etc. etc. for awhile, i just wanted to read my favorite blogs and be.

i did not quit.  i am still here...

with my amateur photography, post that may not always be eloquently put and a dog who seems to get more comments than me.

i am still here because of you.  for whatever reason you stop by, continue to read and inspire.

thank you for being such a supportive and gracious community.

thank you for allowing me to continue to share.

thank you for giving me a reason to just be me.

x

  1. I'm happy your here too!! I read many blogs and I have learned the difference between genuine people and not so genuine. And you are one of the rare genuine ones...it's great coming here and seeing parts of your life and likes. I have had thoughts of packing my blog in a lot at times. The constant begging for follows and such can drain your energy away after a while. But, I just try to remain focused on why I enjoy blogging. You look wonderful, love those shoes :)) I hope you have a great day xx

  3. Well said. I am so glad that you are still here. I have often thought about leaving too, but can't bring myself to do it. I would miss you and many more.

Is that your pop pom hat you made I see? Very cozy chic. Where will your outfit take you today?

  4. Love your blog and glad you didn't leave!

Sometimes I have to remind myself to blog what I love and only do that. When it all becomes too much, I scrap the other pieces and just focus on that.

    Love the sweater! :)

  7. I totally understand trust me - I am there with you. I launched my blog officially at the end of December and it's doing okay. Try to focus on why you are doing it - it's an outlet, a way to just be you and do you - your little piece of the virtualization we all are engulfed in.

  8. Chandra, I'm so glad you're still here. You're one of the few bloggers I have been able to connect with since joining blogosphere who has given a listen ear (or reading eyes) when I needed an outside opinion. So, thank YOU. :-)

I'm not sure why blogging brings about unexpected pressures, but we have to remember why started blogging... and if you do find that it's no longer for you, then it's okay to let go. I'm glad you're staying though.

  11. Hey There, Me here ... Just wanted to say how much I enjoy visiting this space! I too went thru a blogging break last year. To cure myself I switched to Wordpress and refreshed my perspective. I realize I haven't really connected with folks I used to connect with, so I wanted to just say hello again ...

Love the color in your top photo!

  14. This is such a sweet, honest, heartfelt post. I've been blogging for 3 1/2 years now and it can be so overwhelming how competitive and saturated the blog world is. I've taken time off from blogging, changed niches, evolved into who I am today and seen the best and worst of the blog world but I'm still here working at it! The community, the personal growth, growth in my voice and my writing makes it all worth it. Keep at it, girl. You got this!

P.S. On a less serious note, those boots are fab!

  20. Your blog is awesome.
Perhaps i am a bit voyeuristic (proper use?) but I like the idea of glimpsing into people's lives.
While they are real, non-fiction people, something about the blogs i follow, are like following my favorite fictional characters: someone I know, but someone i also don't. I mean this of course, as a compliment.
    Thanks for sharing your life!
    :)
