a haunted pub crawl

2.07.2013

{warning: what you are about to see are random photos taken in the dark.  if you stare at them long enough, you may see a ghost.  and if not, that's ok too because i could not find one!  and not that i necessarily wanted to encounter a ghost, i did think it would be pretty cool to have one turn up in a pic.}

this little blog has been lacking a bit and post have managed to come whenever they can.  my apologies, but with work, travel (and a ghostly adventure), life just got in the way.

and it all started when...

we arrived in chicago, had a brief stay,  then drove ourselves to a quaint little town called galena. and on this night, the sweet boy, myself, and some friends went on a ghostly pub crawl, complete with a guide who not only claimed to have had ghostly encounters, but insisted he had communicated with them as well.  off we went into the night...our group, the guide, and what appeared to be a remote control (known as a emf meter).  yes friends, this little gadget would blink like crazy when there was some sort of paranormal activity going on or when we were in the presence of someone from the past.

pub to pub we went, eyes peeled and nothing in sight! we were encouraged by our guide to snap pictures in hopes something would be captured. on this night, we were not so lucky. Unlike others who have toured, some managed to take photos that revealed small children or a silhouette of a naked lady floating above a piano.  sorry i have nothing like that to share and maybe the spirits were turned off by the fact that a blogger was amongst them.  and just perhaps, they were a bit camera shy and did not want their identities revealed, leaving me with nothing photo worthy to share with you.

 if you are not afraid of the dark (or ghost)and would like to learn a bit of history about galena's ghostly past, check out amelia's ghost tours.  the owners are amazingly friendly and will share stories, legends and history along the way.  and if ghost hunting is not your thing, just sit back and enjoy some tasty brew.

see you friends.
i'll spook you later.

  2. This would be fun, shame you weren't one of the ones that caught something on your camera, but it's still great to get out and have some fun. I think some people think something is there and spook themselves out, but it's funny! I enjoyed this. Hope your day has been great :)
